New Rolls-Royce Phantom sets Benchmark for Luxury in Taiwan

The eagerly-anticipated new Rolls-Royce Phantom has been presented to members of the media in Taiwan for the first time, at an exclusive event held at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Taipei showroom.

Setting the new benchmark

In 1925, Rolls-Royce’s tireless pursuit of perfection resulted in Phantom – widely touted as the ‘Best Car in the World’. For 92 years, Phantom has constantly defined the standards for super-luxury, with features and innovations to satisfy the most discerning of luxury patrons. With the arrival of the New Phantom, a new benchmark is set once again.

Speaking at the launch, Wilhelm Tsai, President of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Taipei said, “We are delighted with the arrival of the new Rolls-Royce Phantom in Taiwan. We are seeing a growing appetite for luxury in the Taiwanese market thanks to continued economic growth, and Phantom will be perfect for with this segment of patronage in Taiwan. Its exclusivity, bold yet elegant design, and engineering innovations showcase the best that Rolls-Royce has to offer in world-class, handcrafted quality.”

“Cutting-edge innovations like a new and exclusive ‘Architecture of Luxury’, great leaps forward in technology, drivetrain and driver assistance systems culminating in an elevated ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ that is both a chauffeur’s dream and an owner’s paradise. Last but not least, a new, world-first ‘Gallery’ allows owners to incorporate their own unique pieces of art into their Bespoke Phantom. With so many headlining features, we are confident that New Phantom will once again take its place at the pinnacle of Taiwan’s super-luxury landscape,” he added.

An Engineering Masterpiece

Now in its eighth generation, New Phantom offers a thoroughly contemporary design interpretation of Rolls-Royce DNA – one that symbolizes sheer power of presence. The ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ experience is enhanced to levels of near-silence on New Phantom, thanks to integration of a slew of new technologies, including 130kg of sound insulation and an all-new, effortless 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine delivering 563hp and 900Nm of torque.

Further enhancing this ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ experience is a new four-corner air suspension system integrating seamlessly with New Phantom’s ‘Architecture of Luxury’, paired with state-of-the-art chassis control systems, delivering 'effortless' ride and handling. When Rolls-Royce’s acoustic test engineers reviewed the results of road and vibration tests, the sound levels were so low they had to check their instruments were calibrated correctly.

In addition, New Phantom is equipped with ‘Flagbearer’– a new stereo camera system integrated in the windscreen to see the road ahead and adjusts the suspension proactively. For ultimate convenience for chauffeurs, drivers and occupants, the car is also equipped with virtually every assistance system available.

Some examples include, but are not limited to, four-wheel steering for increased maneuverability through the narrow streets of Taipei city, to Night Vision and Laser Lights for increased safety in darkness of the highway and Alertness Assistant for long-distance driving across the Taiwanese peninsula.

The ‘Suite’

A divine selection of materials have been placed thoughtfully throughout the interior of New Phantom. As a result, entering the car is akin to entering a luxury hotel ‘suite’, with passengers cocooned in the finest leathers and veneers. The famous coach doors can now be closed from the exterior by touch-sensitive door handles.

A selection of rear seating options is available on New Phantom, from lounge to individual formats. Technology is hidden throughout the interior until required, leaving only the visual majesty of curated wood, leather and billeted metal for all to admire.

‘The Gallery’

The centerpiece of New Phantom is ‘The Gallery’ – a wholly contemporary and luxury reinterpretation of a motor car’s dashboard and instrument panel area, and a world-first by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

An application of glass runs uninterrupted across the fascia of the New Rolls-Royce Phantom, providing an unprecedented opportunity to present commissioned artwork. This has come from an understanding that the marque’s patrons are increasingly collectors of fine and contemporary art.

New Phantom: One of One

The Architecture of Luxury, The Suite, The Gallery, the best possible materials in the world and peerless Rolls-Royce design and engineering; with New Phantom, these elements combine to establish a new benchmark not only in the automotive arena, but as the world’s leading luxury item.

With this near limitless degree of personalisation now available to patrons, there is little doubt that New Phantom will stand peerless at the pinnacle of luxury, a creation truly one, of one.
